EFG Asset Management (EFGAM) continues to innovate and enhance its investment process with the launch of its new Future Leaders Panel. The panel, comprising industry and academic experts, will help construct a proprietary framework that will enable EFGAM to further enhance its investment research process and, ultimately, demonstrate the true value of active management by identifying visionary leaders in company management teams. EFG believes that great management is a key driver behind successful companies and their ability to continually innovate or disrupt the status quo. However, this is not easily quantifiable or indeed apparent from traditional company analysis – something which EFGAM seeks to accomplish with the panel.

EFGAM’s Future Leaders Panel currently comprises:

  • Nathan Furr, business innovation expert and Assistant Professor of Strategy at INSEAD;

  • Tara Swart, neuroscientist and behavioural psychology expert and Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management;

  • Freek Vermeulen, innovation expert and Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at London Business School;

  • Jason Jay, ESG (environmental, social and governance) expert and Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management.

Additional members will be added to the panel over the coming months.

In addition to contributing to the investment research process, the panel will draw on its combined intellectual capital to provide unique insights for the benefit of EFG’s clients.

Moz Afzal, Chief Investment Officer of EFGAM: “The Future Leaders Panel enables us to take our entrepreneurial approach to the next level. The panelists will act as an extension of our in-house analysts to further shape our investment research process and identify the key qualities behind visionary leaders and management teams. We are delighted to welcome such acknowledged experts in the fields of business management and innovation to the panel and look forward to working with them for the benefit of our clients.”

Nathan Furr, Assistant Professor of Strategy at INSEAD and author of The Innovator’s Method (2011): “EFG’s Future Leaders concept is a unique initiative which I’m excited to be a part of. Innovation is unquestionably a cornerstone of great management teams and I look forward to combining my insights with that of EFGAM’s and the other panelists’, to develop a practical investment framework underpinned by sound empirical research.”
