Alonso, 38, will be the first Formula 1 champion to race in the desert endurance event, which is to be held in Saudi Arabia for the first time. Alonso will drive a V8-powered Toyota Hilux in the 12-day event and will be paired with five-time Dakar Bike class champion Marc Coma.
