Yabusame, a ritual form of mounted archery,  is a major event at Sengan-en and is held only on very special occasions. Performed by the Ogasawara-ryu, a school of traditional etiquette, archery, and horsemanship, this year's event was held to celebrate one year of Sengan-en being inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage Site related to Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution.
